Objectives:

Introduction to Claris Paint program, explore paint tools, how to create text blocks, manipulating text, adding images and designs to text, use of color to create special effects.

Motivation:

Students interviewed parents and grandparents, making a list of “words of wisdom”. Their classroom teacher discussed the meaning of these sayings with them and the children also wrote a descriptive paragraph about their sayings.

Procedures:

Over the course of three 45 minute classes, the children:
First, learned to create text blocks and typed their words of wisdom;
Second, learned to change text fonts , style, color, and size.
Third, Using the transforming tools they moved and distorted the text.
Finally they added designs and images to complete their work.
