This is one of the beginning projects in Painter Classic, the objective is to familiarize students with the tools and brushes available in Painter.

I would start my students off with a 5x7"image or smaller if you have limited RAM.

Have two students to a computer - one watches as the other works.

Classic Creative thinking strategy

Experiment with different media, brushes and color. Every once and awhile lean back, use your creative imagination to find images in your painting.
